Run Wars Terms of Use

Effective date: 31 October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Syno Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA ("Syno Labs", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the Run Wars app for iPhone and Apple Watch and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy. Users in Korea also agree to the 위치기반서비스 이용약관 (Location-Based Service Terms).

1. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 14 years old, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live (or have a parent's or guardian's consent).
  • You sign in with your phone number or Sign in with Apple. Keep your device and account secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not share, sell or transfer accounts.

2. The Service

Run Wars turns your outdoor runs into a territory game. The App uses GPS to record your route; closed loops and areas you run can be captured as territory that other players may see, contest and take back. Features may include leaderboards, battles, private lobbies, teams (clubs), a social feed and Apple Watch support. We may change, add or remove features. Game results, territory, ranks and in-game stats have no monetary value and are not your property.

3. Subscriptions, free trials and payments

  • Run Wars Premium is offered as auto-renewing subscriptions bought through Apple's App Store: annual (with a free trial of 7 or 14 days, depending on the offer you are shown) and monthly (no trial). The price, billing period and trial length are shown before you buy.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase or, with a free trial, when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your account within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Managing and cancelling: iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the App or your Run Wars account does not cancel the subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the paid period.
  • Free trials: one per eligible Apple ID. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. We may send a reminder before your trial ends.
  • Refunds: all payments are processed by Apple, and refund requests must be made to Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) under Apple's policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or withdrawal rights you have under mandatory consumer law (for example, in the EU/UK or Korea).
  • Price changes: we may change prices. Apple will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before a price increase applies.
  • Premium features may change over time, but we will not materially reduce the core paid features during a paid period without notice.

4. Your content

  • "User Content" means anything you post or upload: profile name and photo, bio, posts, comments, run titles, photos, team names and logos.
  • You keep ownership of your User Content. You grant Syno Labs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (e.g. resize or format) and distribute your User Content and run/territory data in order to operate, improve and promote the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users have already shared or that we must keep by law.
  • Your runs, routes and territories are shown to other users as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Community rules

You agree not to: - post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights; - stalk, track or harass other runners, or use maps or routes to find or follow someone; - impersonate others, or use offensive display names or team names; - cheat: GPS spoofing, using vehicles, bikes or e-scooters to capture territory, emulators, bots, multiple accounts, or tampering with the App or our servers; - scrape, reverse engineer, resell, or interfere with the Service; - use the Service for advertising or spam without permission.

We use automated filtering for objectionable content and zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users (as required by App Store Guideline 1.2).

6. Reporting and blocking

  • You can report any post, comment, profile or team, and block any user, from within the App. Blocking hides the blocked user's content from you and yours from them.
  • We review reports and aim to act on objectionable content within 24 hours. Actions can include removing content, resetting territory or stats, and suspending or banning accounts.

7. Safety: please read

Running and territory play take place in the real world and carry real risks. - Pay attention to your surroundings. Do not look at or use your phone while crossing roads, in traffic, or anywhere it is unsafe. Obey traffic laws, signals and local rules. - Do not trespass. Never enter private property, restricted, closed or dangerous areas (rail lines, highways, construction sites, military zones, cliffs, water) to capture territory. Territory shown in the App is a game overlay. It gives you no right to access any place. - Health: check with a doctor before starting an exercise programme, especially if you have a medical condition. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. Calories, pace and distance are estimates and not medical information. Run Wars is not a medical device. - Conditions: weather information is provided as-is and may be inaccurate. Consider heat, cold, darkness and air quality. - Personal safety: your routes may be visible to others. Avoid starting or ending runs at your home, and run in safe, well-lit places. - You take part voluntarily and at your own risk, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Intellectual property

The App, game design, graphics, maps overlays, software and trademarks belong to Syno Labs or its licensors. We give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's Usage Rules. Map data is provided by Apple and is subject to its terms.

9. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in the App (Profile → Settings → Delete Account ).
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users. Where reasonable, we will give notice and a chance to respond. If we terminate without cause, you may request a pro-rated refund from Apple, or we will assist where we can.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. 4 licence for already-shared content, 10, 11, 12) survive termination.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. GPS, distance, area, territory and weather data may be inaccurate or unavailable.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SYNO LABS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (B) US$50. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or your statutory rights as a consumer (for example under EU/UK consumer law, the Korean Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions and Consumer Protection in E-Commerce Act, Japan's Consumer Contract Act, Brazil's CDC or India's Consumer Protection Act).

12. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Syno Labs against third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your User Content. This does not apply to consumers where the law prohibits it.

13. Governing law and disputes

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Wyoming have jurisdiction.
  • Consumer carve-out: if you are a consumer living in the EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland, Korea, Japan, Brazil, India or another country whose law gives you mandatory protections, you keep the protection of those mandatory laws, and you may bring claims in the courts of your home country. For users in Korea, disputes are subject to the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
  • EU users: the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is being discontinued. Contact us first: we will try to resolve complaints informally.

14. Apple-specific terms

These Terms are between you and Syno Labs, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation. Syno Labs, not Apple, is responsible for product claims, consumer protection claims, and intellectual property infringement claims relating to the App. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will notify you in the App at least 7 days in advance (30 days for changes that disadvantage you). If you continue to use the Service after the effective date, you accept the changes. If you do not agree, delete your account.

16. General

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms (with the Privacy Policy and, in Korea, the Location-Based Service Terms) are the entire agreement. If language versions conflict, the Korean version governs for users in Korea, and the English version governs elsewhere.

제1조 (목적)

이 약관은 Syno Labs LLC(미국 와이오밍주 유한책임회사, 주소: 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA, 이하 "회사")가 제공하는 Run Wars 앱과 관련 서비스(이하 "서비스")의 이용 조건, 그리고 회사와 회원 간의 권리·의무를 정합니다. 위치정보 처리에 관한 사항은 별도의 「위치기반서비스 이용약관」을 따릅니다.

제2조 (약관의 효력 및 변경)

  1. 회원이 가입 시 이 약관에 동의하면 이 약관의 효력이 발생합니다.
  2. 회사는 「약관의 규제에 관한 법률」 등 관련 법령을 위반하지 않는 범위에서 약관을 변경할 수 있습니다. 변경 시 시행일 7일 전부터 공지하며, 회원에게 불리한 변경은 30일 전부터 공지하고 앱 내 알림으로 개별 통지합니다.
  3. 회원은 변경된 약관에 동의하지 않으면 탈퇴할 수 있습니다.

제3조 (이용 자격 및 계정)

  1. 서비스는 만 14세 이상만 이용할 수 있습니다.
  2. 회원은 휴대전화번호 인증 또는 Apple로 로그인을 통해 가입합니다. 계정 관리 책임은 회원에게 있으며, 계정을 양도·대여·판매할 수 없습니다.

제4조 (서비스의 내용)

회사는 GPS 기반 러닝 기록, 영토 점령 게임, 리더보드, 배틀, 비공개 로비, 팀(클럽), 피드, Apple Watch 연동 등의 기능을 제공합니다. 회사는 운영상·기술상 필요에 따라 서비스 내용을 변경할 수 있으며, 중요한 변경은 사전에 공지합니다. 게임 내 영토, 순위, 기록에는 재산적 가치가 없습니다.

제5조 (유료 구독, 무료체험, 자동 갱신)

  1. 회사는 Apple App Store를 통해 자동 갱신 구독을 판매합니다. 연간 구독은 7일 또는 14일 무료체험이 포함될 수 있으며(표시된 혜택 기준), 월간 구독은 무료체험이 없습니다. 가격, 결제 주기, 체험 기간은 구매 전에 표시합니다.
  2. 결제는 구매를 확정하는 즉시 Apple 계정으로 청구됩니다. 무료체험의 경우 체험이 끝나는 시점에 자동으로 유료 전환되어 결제됩니다. 체험 종료 24시간 전까지 해지하면 결제되지 않습니다.
  3. 구독은 현재 기간이 끝나기 24시간 전까지 자동 갱신을 끄지 않으면 같은 기간·당시 가격으로 자동 갱신됩니다.
  4. 해지: iPhone 설정 > [이름] > 구독에서 해지할 수 있습니다. 앱을 삭제하거나 회원 탈퇴를 해도 구독은 해지되지 않습니다. 해지하면 다음 갱신부터 결제가 중단되고, 이미 결제한 기간이 끝날 때까지는 계속 이용할 수 있습니다.
  5. 환불: 결제와 환불은 Apple이 처리하며, 환불은 Apple(reportaproblem.apple.com)에 요청해야 합니다. 다만 이 조항은 「전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률」 등에 따른 청약철회 등 회원의 법정 권리를 제한하지 않습니다. 회사는 회원의 청약철회 요청이 원활히 처리되도록 협조합니다.
  6. 가격을 인상할 경우 Apple 정책과 관련 법령에 따라 사전에 고지하고, 필요하면 동의를 받습니다.

제6조 (게시물)

  1. 회원이 작성한 게시물(닉네임, 프로필 사진, 자기소개, 피드, 댓글, 사진, 팀 이름·로고 등)의 저작권은 회원에게 있습니다.
  2. 회원은 회사가 서비스 운영·개선·홍보를 위해 게시물을 전 세계에서 무상으로 저장·복제·전시·편집(크기 조정 등)할 수 있도록 허락합니다. 이 허락은 게시물 삭제나 회원 탈퇴 시 종료됩니다.
  3. 회원의 러닝 경로, 기록, 점령 영토는 다른 회원에게 공개될 수 있습니다(개인정보 처리방침 참조).

제7조 (회원의 의무 및 금지행위)

회원은 다음 행위를 해서는 안 됩니다. 1. 불법, 음란, 폭력적, 혐오·차별적, 명예훼손적 게시물이나 타인의 권리를 침해하는 게시물 작성 2. 지도와 경로를 이용해 다른 회원을 추적·스토킹·괴롭히는 행위 3. 타인 사칭, 불쾌한 닉네임이나 팀명 사용 4. 부정 플레이: GPS 조작, 차량·자전거·전동킥보드 등을 이용한 영토 점령, 다중 계정, 봇, 앱·서버 변조 5. 리버스 엔지니어링, 데이터 수집(스크래핑), 무단 광고·스팸

제8조 (신고 및 차단)

  1. 회원은 앱에서 게시물·댓글·프로필·팀을 신고하고, 다른 회원을 차단할 수 있습니다.
  2. 회사는 신고를 접수하면 원칙적으로 24시간 이내에 검토하여 게시물 삭제, 기록·영토 초기화, 이용 정지 등의 조치를 합니다.
  3. 회사는 유해 게시물과 악성 이용자에 대해 무관용 원칙을 적용합니다.

제9조 (안전 유의사항)

  1. 러닝과 영토 게임은 실제 도로와 장소에서 이루어집니다. 회원은 주변을 살피고 교통법규를 준수해야 하며, 도로 횡단 중이나 교통이 많은 곳에서는 앱을 보거나 조작하지 마십시오.
  2. 사유지, 출입금지 구역, 공사장, 철도, 고속도로, 군사시설 등 위험하거나 허가되지 않은 장소에 들어가지 마십시오. 앱에 표시되는 영토는 게임상 표시일 뿐이며, 어떤 장소에 출입할 권리도 주지 않습니다.
  3. 운동을 시작하기 전에 필요하면 의사와 상담하십시오. 통증이나 어지러움이 느껴지면 즉시 중단하십시오. 칼로리·거리·페이스는 추정치이며 의료 정보가 아닙니다.
  4. 날씨 정보는 부정확할 수 있습니다. 더위, 추위, 야간, 미세먼지 등에 유의하십시오.
  5. 경로가 공개될 수 있으므로 자택에서 출발·종료하는 것을 피하는 등 개인 안전에 유의하십시오.

제10조 (계약 해지 및 이용 제한)

  1. 회원은 언제든지 앱에서 탈퇴할 수 있습니다(프로필 > 설정 > 계정 삭제 ).
  2. 회원이 이 약관을 중대하게 또는 반복적으로 위반하면 회사는 사전 통지 후 이용을 제한하거나 계약을 해지할 수 있습니다. 긴급한 경우에는 사후에 통지할 수 있습니다. 회원은 이의를 제기할 수 있습니다.

제11조 (면책 및 책임 제한)

  1. 회사는 천재지변, 통신 장애, GPS 오차 등 회사의 귀책사유가 없는 손해에 대해 책임지지 않습니다.
  2. 회사는 회원이 안전 유의사항이나 법령을 위반하여 발생한 손해에 대해 책임지지 않습니다.
  3. 다만 회사의 고의 또는 중대한 과실로 인한 손해, 그리고 관련 법령상 책임을 제한할 수 없는 경우에는 그러하지 않습니다. 이 조항은 「약관의 규제에 관한 법률」 제7조 등 강행규정에 반하는 범위에서는 효력이 없습니다.

제12조 (준거법 및 관할)

  1. 이 약관은 미국 와이오밍주 법을 준거법으로 합니다. 다만 대한민국에 거주하는 소비자인 회원에게는 대한민국 법령의 강행규정이 적용되며, 이로 인한 보호를 받습니다.
  2. 회사와 국내 회원 간의 분쟁은 「민사소송법」상 관할 법원에 제기할 수 있습니다.

제13조 (Apple 관련)

이 약관은 회원과 회사 사이의 계약이며, Apple은 앱 및 지원에 대해 책임지지 않습니다. Apple과 그 자회사는 이 약관의 제3자 수익자로서 이 약관을 집행할 수 있습니다.

제14조 (언어)

국문과 영문 약관의 내용이 서로 다르면 국내 회원에게는 국문 약관이 우선합니다.

Run Wars 위치기반서비스 이용약관

제1조 (목적)

이 약관은 Syno Labs LLC(이하 "회사")가 제공하는 Run Wars 위치기반서비스(이하 "서비스")를 이용할 때 회사와 개인위치정보주체(이하 "이용자") 간의 권리·의무와 책임, 그 밖에 필요한 사항을 정합니다.

제2조 (약관 외 준칙)

이 약관에서 정하지 않은 사항은 「위치정보의 보호 및 이용 등에 관한 법률」(이하 "위치정보법"), 「개인정보 보호법」, 「전기통신사업법」, 「정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률」 등 관계 법령과 회사의 이용약관 및 개인정보 처리방침을 따릅니다.

제3조 (서비스 내용 및 요금)

  1. 회사는 이용자의 개인위치정보를 이용하여 다음 서비스를 제공합니다.
  2. 러닝 경로 기록과 거리·페이스 계산
  3. 이동 경로를 바탕으로 한 영토 점령 판정, 지도 표시
  4. 리더보드, 배틀, 비공개 로비 등 다른 이용자와의 게임 기능(이용자의 경로·영토를 다른 이용자에게 표시)
  5. 현재 위치 기반 날씨 정보 제공
  6. 기본 위치기반서비스는 무료입니다. 일부 기능은 유료 구독이 필요합니다(이용약관 제5조). 데이터 통신 요금은 이용자가 가입한 통신사 정책에 따릅니다.

제4조 (개인위치정보의 수집 방법 및 이용·보유 기간)

  1. 수집 방법: 이용자가 러닝을 시작하면 기기의 위치 서비스(GPS·Wi-Fi·기지국 기반 Core Location)로 정밀 위치를 수집합니다. 러닝 중에는 앱이 백그라운드에 있어도 수집하며, 러닝을 종료하면 수집을 중단합니다. 날씨 확인 시에는 현재 위치를 1회 조회합니다.
  2. 이용 목적: 제3조의 서비스 제공
  3. 보유 기간: 러닝 기록·경로·영토는 이용자가 삭제하거나 탈퇴할 때까지 보유하고, 그 후 지체 없이 파기합니다. 날씨 조회용 위치는 저장하지 않습니다.
  4. 위치정보법 제16조제2항에 따라 위치정보 수집·이용·제공사실 확인자료는 위치정보시스템에 자동으로 기록되며 6개월 이상 보관합니다.

제5조 (이용자의 권리)

  1. 이용자는 개인위치정보 수집·이용·제공에 대한 동의의 전부 또는 일부를 언제든지 철회할 수 있습니다. 동의를 철회하면 회사는 수집한 개인위치정보와 확인자료를 지체 없이 파기합니다. 다만 법령에 따라 보관해야 하는 경우는 예외입니다.
  2. 이용자는 언제든지 개인위치정보의 수집·이용·제공의 일시적 중지를 요구할 수 있습니다(예: 기기 설정에서 위치 권한 끄기). 회사는 이를 거절할 수 없으며, 이를 위한 기술적 수단을 갖춥니다.
  3. 이용자는 다음 자료의 열람 또는 고지를 요구할 수 있고, 오류가 있으면 정정을 요구할 수 있습니다.
  4. 본인에 대한 위치정보 수집·이용·제공사실 확인자료
  5. 본인의 개인위치정보가 위치정보법이나 다른 법률에 따라 제3자에게 제공된 이유와 내용
  6. 권리 행사는 앱 설정이나 support@synostudios.com으로 할 수 있습니다.

제6조 (개인위치정보의 제3자 제공 및 통보)

  1. 회사는 이용자의 동의 없이 개인위치정보를 제3자에게 제공하지 않습니다.
  2. 서비스 특성상 이용자의 러닝 경로와 점령 영토는 다른 이용자에게 표시됩니다. 이용자는 가입 시 별도 동의로 이에 동의하며, 프로필 비공개 설정으로 공개 범위를 조정할 수 있습니다(점령 영토는 지도에 항상 표시).
  3. 회사가 제3자에게 개인위치정보를 제공하는 경우, 제공받는 자, 제공 일시 및 목적을 제공할 때마다 이용자에게 즉시 통보합니다. 다만 위치정보법 제19조제4항에 따라 일정 기간 모아서 통보할 수 있습니다.

제7조 (만 14세 미만 아동 등)

  1. 회사는 만 14세 미만 아동에게 서비스를 제공하지 않으며, 그 개인위치정보를 수집하지 않습니다.
  2. 만 8세 이하 아동 등의 보호의무자가 동의하는 경우(위치정보법 제26조)에 대해서는 회사가 해당 서비스를 제공하지 않으므로 적용하지 않습니다.

제8조 (긴급구조기관의 요청 등)

회사는 위치정보법 제29조에 따른 긴급구조 목적의 개인위치정보 제공 업무를 수행하지 않습니다. 다만 법령에 따라 수사기관 등의 적법한 요청이 있으면 그에 따릅니다.

제9조 (위치정보관리책임자)

회사는 개인위치정보를 적절히 관리·보호하고 이용자의 불만을 원활히 처리하기 위해 위치정보관리책임자를 지정합니다. - 연락처: support@synostudios.com

제10조 (손해배상)

  1. 회사가 위치정보법 제15조부터 제26조까지를 위반하여 이용자에게 손해가 생긴 경우, 이용자는 회사에 손해배상을 청구할 수 있습니다. 이 경우 회사는 고의 또는 과실이 없음을 입증하지 못하면 책임을 면할 수 없습니다.
  2. 이용자가 이 약관을 위반하여 회사에 손해가 생긴 경우, 회사는 이용자에게 손해배상을 청구할 수 있습니다.

제11조 (면책)

회사는 천재지변, 통신망 장애, 이용자의 귀책사유, GPS 수신 불량 등 회사의 고의·과실이 없는 사유로 서비스를 제공할 수 없는 경우에는 책임을 지지 않습니다.

제12조 (분쟁의 조정)

  1. 회사는 위치정보와 관련한 분쟁에 대해 당사자 간 협의가 이루어지지 않거나 협의할 수 없는 경우, 위치정보법 제28조에 따라 방송미디어통신위원회에 재정을 신청할 수 있습니다.
  2. 회사 또는 이용자는 「개인정보 보호법」 제43조에 따라 개인정보분쟁조정위원회(www.kopico.go.kr, 1833-6972)에 조정을 신청할 수 있습니다.

제13조 (약관의 변경)

회사는 약관을 변경할 때 시행일 7일 전(이용자에게 불리한 변경은 30일 전)부터 앱 내 공지사항으로 알립니다.
